Armourseal - Sign Manufacturing - Artwork |
| Having collected the ideas around your signs' purpose and content, your first step is to have them converted into artwork. The format of your artwork is important. It may determine the type of print which could be encapsulated within your Armourseal sign |
 |
| Your first option, once you have gathered together any visual material and text you wish used, is to simply send it in to us. An experienced designer will begin to assemble it into artwork. You will be sent a copy of this design to approve. We do not proceed any further until you are completely satisfied with the layout. |
| Alternatively, you may have facilities and wish to generate your own. No problem. To help you, here are some general guidelines |
| |
With quark and Freehand, do not, if possible, save as EPS files. If problems occur when opened, it would not be possible to correct them. Include a visual of your design. It may also be helpful to send a list of the files on your disc
Check beforehand, whether the software and disk you intend using are compatible with ours. Supply all Fonts

Artwork to be reproduced as film positives for silk-screened prints, should ideally be no greater than 760mm x 510mm. For fine details, 610mm x 510mm. Fine type and line drawings should be produced separately and at full size. Artwork supplied larger will be less cost effective
Each overlay should depict in only one colour, except where they do not touch another.
Where artwork for digital prints includes text and full colour illustration, these should be separated. The illustration should be the base, which will be converted into a transaprency and scanned. The text or line drawings, should be supplied on a disk, for us to overmount on the scan. Alternatively, you can produce a visual overlay and we will reproduce on the computer |

Where one colour butts against another, an overlap bleed is required (normally on the lightest) for registration. Quote uncoated pantone references or send colour swatches to match inks to. Dot size should be as coarse as possible. Half tones and flat colours should be 43/44 dpi, illustrations can go to 49 dpi - a visual to VPB will ensure correct dot can be recommended.
